At Walk-In Tubs Ottawa, we don’t air our dirty laundry, but this must be made public. Recently, some competitors have been misusing our business name in their online advertising in an attempt to confuse customers and steal from us.

The main offender is Walk-In Tubs Ontario, who has been running ads that deliberately use our company name, misleading the public and trying to benefit from our hard-earned reputation. Of course since we've posted this they've removed them but we have screenshots as you will see below.

John Wilson, the owner of Walk in Tubs Ontario, has even gone so far as to impersonate us in ads, claiming, "Welcome to Walk in Tubs Ottawa." We've gathered extensive evidence, including screenshots, showing their fraudulent activity, which we have submitted to the proper authorities.
To add to their dishonesty, they've falsely claimed that their Chinese-manufactured tubs are made in Canada. This is a blatant lie—99% of walk-in tubs, including ours, are manufactured in China, and there are no walk-in tubs manufactured or Made in Canada. If anyone claims otherwise, ask for proof.

FRAUD IS A CRIME, FRAUD AGAINST SENIORS, NOW THAT'S DESPICABLE.

Below are just a few of the many examples of the misleading ads we are talking about

below are videos of how Walk in Tubs Ontario has incorporated our names ( Walk in Tubs Ottawa and Walk in Tubs Canada ) into domain names that redirect to their website..note that about 3 years ago our lawyer showed John Wilson of Walk in Tubs Ontario proof that we registered and own those 2 names...the video on the left was taken on October 10th, 2024
in the picture below in the upper left corner is Safe bathing Canada's logo but as you can clearly see in the center of the page is our name with their phone number below it...
in the picture below you can clearly see our name at the top but the arrow points to where they post there website with their phone number and adress above

in the picture below, Walk in Tubs Ontario claims to be a manufacture as to which they are not, in fact they buy from a wholesaler, not even direct
in the picture below, they claim their partner is a manufacture in Canada, they are not, they buy from China

in the picture below, on Walk in Tub Ontario's website, you see their name at the top left, circled is where they use our name, trying to impersonate us clearly..this was no mistake as it did not say that beforehand, the fellow in the yellow T shirt is John Wilson
in the ad below, this is one of many where they use our name, you see by the arrow their website, address and phone number...our name is used 3 times in this ad....Walk in Tubs Ontario is well aware that we own this name as our lawyer shared that info with them

in the ad below, our name is used again by Walk in Tubs Ontario
in the ad below, Safety Bath, supplier to Walk in Tubs Ontario and Safe Bathing Canada uses our other business name " Walk in Tubs Canada"

In the screenshot below, Safe Bathing Canada claims to be a manufacture since 1992, another blatant lie, they buy from Safety Bath who buys from China, and of course none of these companies are the inventor of the walk in tubs, ask them what proof they have of being the inventor !

You may have noticed that these companies heavily promote their tubs as being CSA certified. While this might sound impressive, let us clarify what CSA certification actually means — because we deal with CSA certified products.

CSA certification simply indicates that a product has been tested for basic safety standards and is deemed safe to use in your home. However, it has nothing to do with the actual quality or durability of the product.

CSA does not evaluate how well a tub is built, how long it will last, or how it performs over time. The tests CSA perform cannot be compared with filling or draining your tub 500 times, they do not open and close the door 500 times to make sure the hinges will hold etc..

So, don't be misled by companies that try to use CSA certification as a mark of superior quality — it’s not. It’s merely a safety compliance mark.

If you'd like to verify this yourself, we encourage you to contact CSA directly or visit their website to learn more.
in the ad below, Safety Bath claims to manufacture tubs with doors while these tubs are imported from China including their inexpensive faucets

The cheapest tubs built in the industry...see below information...these tubs are supplied by Five Star Manufacturing in Hong Kong who supplies Safety Bath in Alberta, Sanspa in The U.S. and Bains Securs in Quebec. We had also bought direct but stopped selling these products as they are the most problematic tubs we ever dealt with. See why below and also see the second video on our Video page.
in the picture below we see the inside of the tubs door covered with mold..this can be an issue with an aluminum door..this is the same tub as what Safety Bath sells which came from their supplier

we've only seen 1 tub in the industry with an aluminum door frame around the doors opening, you guessed it, Safety Bath, Sanspa and Bains Securs sell it...the paint can chip off the door frame

below is a picture of paint chipping off an aluminum door, if it happens when the warranty runs out, guess what ? you'll be stuck paying to fix it..... same tubs as Safety Baths, and yes these companies know this happens

in the picture below, the floor of this tub has about 100 cracks in it as well as the seat is cracked ( can be seen in our showroom ) yes its the same tubs those same companies sell..the manufacture also admitted its an issue, we still have their email and it can be shared...even though it may be under warranty, it cannot be repaired, the tub must be replaced and may not cover the labor costs which you would have to pay... and what an inconvenience to replace a walk in tub ..Note that these are the only tubs in the industry known to crack

the video below was taken while the tub was still in the clients home in Alexandria...the paint was chipping off the door and door frame and the seat was cracked.....same tubs as Safety Bath and Sanspa...again the only tubs known to crack and for the paint to chip....cheap cheap cheap
If you wish to know more, give us a call to visit our showroom where we can show you 4 brands of tubs so you can make an informed and intelligent decision. Note that our tubs do not crack, our faucets do not leak and the paint does not chip off our doors, after all, our tubs doors are finished with acrylic, just like the tubs shell. We offer the best warranty and back it up without hesitation. call today for more info...613-299-5522

p.s, if you are a victim of fraud in this industry and don't know what to do, call us and we'll gladly help guide you
While we have your attention here's a bit more info about other brands we have dealt with.

Ellas bubbles: claims to be a manufacture but they are not, they bring in their tubs from China fully assembled and ready to go. As a past dealer for them we have to say we had issues with 80% of the tubs they sent us from tubs leaking, scratches, scuff marks etc..so we buy the same tubs shells from the same manufacture with some differences. Ellas tub have aluminum doors or plastic which we've had problems with so our tubs doors come with acrylic doors reinforced with fiberglass like the tubs shell and the door has a heavy duty aluminum rib cage as well and are trouble free. Our jet systems and accessories are manufactured in Canada by CG Air system which we assemble here in Ottawa. And Ellas single lever faucets are problematic and we've had to replace all of them as their diverter button stops working after a while because of the poor design.

American Standard: tub shells come from China and jet systems are offshore products. There is nothing American about these products except for their name and definitely nothing Canadian about them. And that company is owned by a Japanese firm now. Issues we've had with their Transfer tubs ( large outswing doors ) is the door handle being bent by folks as they are not the easiest to use and issues with the jet systems and components.

Safestep tubs; we've installed a few. Their shells are from the states but what they won't tell you is that their jet systems are all offshore products. This company is known for using high pressure sales tactics and prices start at around 30,000.00$ but if you sign today you get 5000.00$ off...clients have told us that those sales rep were in their homes up to 4-5 hours trying to make the sale...Note that coercion when it comes to seniors is illegal.
